1. EuropaBio SME Project
EuropaBio with a pan-European network of National Bioindustries Associations (NBAs) including IBIA have developed a programme to strengthen the cooperation between academic researchers, SME's and all other operators which can develop or benefit from biotech innovation in all sectors - health, medical devices, agri-food industry, diagnostics, environment, and bio-informatics.

The services provided by NBAs aim at providing SMEs, Universities and research laboratories in the Biotechnology and related sectors, with information and assistance, in order to help them meet their needs and direct them in their search of partners and preparation of successful participation in Framework 6. Particular attention is given to SMEs’ so that they are aware of potentially participation in both FP 6 and CRAFT programmes. The SME project has developed a database to help SME's find suitable partners.

2. Leonardo Bio-entrepreneur Project

The Leonardo Bio_entrepreneur Project has been set up to provide scientists with a long distance training package to aid them set up their own company. In many cases, future entrepreneurs do not have the time or resources to study for a MBA or a specialised business course. However this project aims to address those needs by providing a multimedia distance learning system via the internet. The project members are currently working on Finance & Business Models, Business Plans, Marketing, IP & Patenting and RTD Management & Access to R&D EU programmes.
